ప్రపంచములోఁ బంచమాంశమునకు నధీశ్వరుం డైన యెడ్వర్డుచరితమును నేను తేటతెలుఁగన వ్రాసి, నాచే వ్రాయఁబడు మహాపురుష జీవితములలో ద్వితీయ్య గుచ్ఛముగఁ జేర్చితి. శ్రీ మద్విక్టోరియా యొక్కయు నాయమభర్త అగు నాల్పర్టు ప్రభువుయొక్కయు చరిత్రంబులును, ఇంకఁ గొందఱు ఎడ్వర్డునుగూర్చి వ్రాసినగ్రంథములును సాహయ్యముగఁ గై కొని, నేనీ యెడ్వర్డుచరితంబు వ్రాసితి. కాఁబట్టి నేను ఆచరిత్ర గ్రంథకారులయెడ మిక్కిలి కృతజ్ఞత కలవాడనై యున్నాఁడ. నే నీ గ్రంథమును ముద్రించుటలో జ్యోతిష్మతీ ముద్రాక్షరాధికారులును, సంస్కృతాంధ్రంబులయందు సాహిత్య చక్రవర్తులును, కవిసింహులును, అస్మద్గురువర్యులును, అయిన బ్రహ్మశ్రీ వేదము వేంకటరాయశాస్త్రులుగారును, శ్రీపచ్చయప్పకళాశాలాంధ్రపండితులైన శ్రీమాన్ పర్ణశాల నృసింహాచార్యులును, నాకుమిక్కిలి తోడుపడిరి. నేను వీరికిఁ గృతజ్ఞతాపూర్వక వందనముల నర్పింపుచు ముద్రణచిత్తుకాగితములను దిద్దిన మ రా రా శ్రీ. ఓ. వై. . దొరసామయ్య గారికి నాదెనరు సూపుచు, విద్వజ్జనులును, విద్యాధికారులును, పాఠశాలలయందు. నాంధ్రపండితులును, సకల మహనీయులును, ఆంధ్రభాషాభిమానులును, నాకుఁ దగినసాయము సేసి, ఇట్టి గ్రంథముల రచించుటకు నన్ని తెఱంగులఁ తోడ్పడుదు రని నమ్ము.
