ఆపదందుఁ జూడుమా'రయ బంధుల
భయము వేళఁ జూడు బంటు గుణము
పేద పడ్డ వెనుక, పెండ్లాము గతిఁ జూడు! వి. 9
మగఁడు మదనుడై'న మంచి కాపురమై'న,
సహజమే'ల మాను, జారకాంత?
పాలు ద్రావు కుక్క బడిబడి పోవదా? వి. 10
పురుషుడె'రుగఁ జంపు, భూపతి వినఁ, జేటు!
అఖిల నిందకె'ల్లనా లయంబు,
పర - పురుష - గమనము ప్రత్యక్ష - నరకంబు! వి. 11

9. In adversity observe well the behaviour of your relations: in the time of fear observe the worth of your soldier; and when you fall into poverty, look well to your wife's steps.*[1]
