Sir, We have the honour to enclose a copy of the "Native Advocate" newspaper, a weekly publication lately started by us, and respectfully wish to be informed if the Madras Government will do us the honour of subscribing to the paper in question.

Ours being a Native newspaper, we have secured a large number of subscribers of some of the most respectable classes among the population. Information of a public character, such as is usually placed by the Government at the disposal of the Press, will therefore be very thankfully received by us, and given insertion to in our columns.

Our humble and respectful request to you therefore is that you would be pleased to obtain the sanction of Government to forward us for the use of the "Native Advocate", all the official papers weekly placed on the Editors' table.
