- The Râmâyana is [a tale of] adultery; the Bhârata is obscene; the Bhâgavata is a lie.
1869. రామాయణములో పిడకల వేట్లాట.
- Like pelting one another with cowdung cakes, during the reading of the Ramayana.
- Inattention and disrespect.
1870. రామాయణమంతా విని రాముడికి సీత యేమి కావలెను అని అడిగినట్టు.
- Like asking what relation Site. was to Râma after listening to the whole Râmâyaņa.
- A dunderhead.
1871. రామేశ్వరము పోతే, శనేశ్వరము కూడా వచ్చినది.
- When he went to Râmêśvaram, Śanêśvaram followed him.

- His bad luck followed him.—Śanêśvaram is an incorrect name given to the planet Saturn ; it appears to be a‘ corruption of Śanaiśchara.
