2248. ఒక చెంప కొట్టితే పాలు, వక చెంప కొట్టితే నీళ్లు.
If you slap one cheek, milk [comes]' If you slap the other cheek, water [comes].
Said of a very tender, delicate boy.
2249. ఒక చేత పసుపు, వక చేత ముసుకు.
In one hand turmeric, in the other hand a hood. Turmeric is much used on auspicious occasions such as marriages. Every woman, except she is a widow, also rub it daily on her body before bathing. Musugu is a skirt of a Woman's cloth thrown over the head (by widows) as a hood.
2250. ఒక వరలో రెండు కత్తులు యిమడవు.
Two swords cannot be contained in one scabbard.
Said of two masters in a house,&c.
The two cats and a mouse, two dogs and a bone, never agree in one.
2251. ఒక్కడి సంపాద్యము పది మంది పాలు.
One man's gains are shared by ten.
A man's relations live on him.
2252. ఒక్క ప్రొద్దు మాట కుక్క యెరుగునా.
