తనదు సొమ్ము జూడ, దానమి'య్యగ వచ్చు,
న' వని దొడ్డు గాద' దె' వరికైన,
నదరు బెదురు లేకన' న్యుల సొమ్ముల
దానమి' చ్చు వాడు దాత వేమ. 134
ధైర్య - యుతునకి' తర ధనమై' న నదురే' మి?
దానమి' చ్చున' పుడె తనకు దక్కె,
నె' లమి మించు పనికినె' వరే'మి సేయుదు
ర' డుగు దప్ప తప్పు పిడుగు వేమ. 135
ద్రోహ బుద్ధినై'న దొంగరికమునై'న,
నటలనై'న సాహసముననై'న,
సంపద' ధికు చేత, సాధించి ధనమును,
బడుగుకి' చ్చి, బాగు పడును, వేమ. 136
134. Every man may give of his own, and this is no great matter to any one; he alone can be called liberal who without hesitation takes the property of others and bestows it in gifts. *[1]
135. Why should a man of resolution hesitate because the property belongs to another? By bestowing it in charity it becomes his own: what can be done to him? the thunderbolt falls innocuous at his feet.
136. Whatever riches have been accumulated either by evil devices, by theft, by fraud, or by any rash act,†[2] whoever has hereby become rich, shall still be happy if he bestows much on the poor.
