1698. మశి ముఖము వాడూ, చమురుకాళ్ల వాడూ పోగయినట్టు.
- Like a black faced villain joining an oily legged sinner.

- Burglars disguise their faces, and lepers oil their sores.
- Birds of a feather flock together.
1699. మహా మహా వారు మదుళ్లకింద వుంటే, గోడ చాటు వారికి శరణు శరణు.
- When great men are under the coping, “ Śaraņu! Śaraņu!” [is said] to those who live under the wall.
- Śaraņu Śaraņu here means " you may go, you may go."
- When a superior is in want, an inferior must expect to be neglected.
1700. మహా లక్ష్మి పరదేశము పోయినట్టు.
- Like the goddess of fortune emigrating.
- Said of an avaricious person going to seek for some small gains.
1701. మాంసము తింటామని బోకెలు గుచ్చి మెడను వేసుకోనా.
- May we hang a string of bones round the neck, saying “we eat meat?”
1702. మాంసము మాంసమును పెంచును.
- Flesh increases flesh.
1703. మాటకు మాట తెగులు, నీళ్లకు నాచు తెగులు.
- Word upon word spoils speech as weeds spoil water.
