The numerals three and seven are perpetually confounded in manuscript.
The first 25 consonants are arranged in sets (called rftfs&o vargamu) having five letters in each : and on arranging these in five lines, we shall observe that the first and third letter in each line, are simple: but the second and fourth are aspirated. For the sake of distinction the consonants that stand in the first column, being g" £f &, eS, ■£, &c, are called *cosS. hard : and X, 8, &, (3, K> &c, in the third column are called $8$ soft. Thus G is the soft sound of k: and P is the hard sound of B.
