గురుడు వేశ్య కన్న కులహీనుడే' మకో? వి. 28
తీపి లోన తీపి తెలియంగ ప్రాణంబు
ప్రాణ వితతి కన్న పసిడి తీపి;
పసిడికన్న మిగుల పడతి మాటలు తీపి. వి. 29
పనస తొలల కన్న పంచదారల కన్న
జుంటి తేనె కన్న జున్ను కన్న
చెరుకు రసము కన్న చెలి మాట తీపిరా! వి. 30
కొమ్మ దిమ్మరై' న దిమ్మ రులకు' వల్చు;
సరస విటులకే'ల సమ్మతించు?
పేడ దిన్న పురుగు బెల్లమే మె'రుగురా? వి. 31
28. To the teacher they will not give even a mess of stale food; but on a courtezan they will bestow their whole wealth: ah! is the doctor more degraded than the dancer?
29. What is dearest † [1] of all things? life: but gold is dearer than a thousand lives: and dearer than gold are the words of a maiden.
