కులము లో నొకండు గుణవంతుడుండెనా ?
కులము వెలయు, వాని గుణముచేత.
వెలయు వనము లోన మలయ - జంబు' న్న' ట్లు. వి. 27
పంది పిల్లలీ' ను, పదియునై' దింటిని ;
కుంజరంబు యీను, కొదమనొ' కటి.
యుత్తమ - పురుషుండు యొక్కడు జాలడా ? వి. 28
ఎరుఁగు వాని దెలుపనె' వ్వడై' ననుఁ జాలు ;
నొ'రుల వశము గాదు వోగు దెల్ప;
యేటి వంక దీర్ప నె' వ్వరి తరమ' యా ? వి. 29
అల్పుఁడె'పుడు బల్కు నా' డంబరము గాను,
సజ్జనుండు బలుకు, చల్ల గాను.
కంచు మోగిన' ట్లు కనకంబు మోగునా ? వి. 30

27. If there be in a tribe one of excellence, the tribe becomes illustrious by reason of his virtues, as the grove is distinguished for the sandal tree therein.
28. A pig will bring forth young at five or ten at a time ; an elephant produces but one. Is not then one man truly excellent, enough ?
29. Any one can instruct a man of understanding, but it is not in the power of others to teach the vile : Is it possible for any one to straighten the bend of a river ?
30. The light man will always talk big, but the excellent speaks coolly. Consider, will gold ring like bell metal ?
