The School has enviable good fortune in looking up, for its patron, to the enlightened and liberal-hearted Rajah of Pithapuram who besides already granting Rs. 7,000 for initial outlay, has provided Rs. 20,000 in the Estate budget for the current year. The Samaj is prayerfully confident that under the fostering care of this esteemed nobleman —the rising hope of many a good cause in these parts—the School has a very bright future. 2. The Widows' Home is making encouraging progress. At present there are fourteen inmates. Every one of them has to receive systematic education in English and Telugu, and is trained in household management. Due care is bestowed on suitable physical exercises and on nourishing a religious spirit. Four of the inmates attend the Hithakarini High School; the rest are educated in the school for young ladies attached to the Home. Five of the inmates were married in course of last year. The Home is located in the beautiful Ananda gardens given by the Founder. 3. The school for young ladies, though chiefly used by the inmates of the Home, is also meant for, and has on its rolls, other young ladies as well. It has a staff of three qualified teachers, and is under the direct supervision of the esteemed President. It will shortly be cenverted into a recognised Lower Secondary School. It is trusted that this is the nucleus of a High School for young ladies in due course of time.
