§ ○Fーど స్వి య చ రి رت ము Astanga Hrithaya and many others, some of which have not as yet seen the light of publication. It is true that some of the technical words and phrases which he has been obliged to use in the Translation are not colloquial and household terms and consequently rather difficult to be easily understood by the commonality, yet had he not used those terms, he would have made a mess of the Translation. And to avoid this difficulty he has added an Appendix in the terminus of the book giving the English equivolents of those technicalities for the guidance of the reader. The book has 22 diagrams illustrative of the different parts of the body which he got made at the Art studio of Calcutta at an enormous expense. The book also contains two representations of the author one on the bind and other on the title page which add beauty to the book. We think it will not be uninteresting to our readers to pen a few lines about the author himself here. He is one of the greatest Telugu Pundits and poets living and lived who has been blessed with that keen foresight of observing nature in its true colors which any school boy can perceive in any of his Telugu Dramas, such as the Pleader's Drama or the Brahma Vivaha. Born a genius he has also got that moral courage and exemplary character which, the English people say, are wanting in the majority of the Hindus; and his undaunted courage and perseverance are very well exemplified in this one fact that while almost all the Natives for reform of the widow - marriage have recoiled back from the attempt, although they are convinced of the necessity and advisability of the marriages of young widows, this gentleman has taken the leading part in that reform and stood like the Monument in the midst of troubles
