also lost. It was sad to say that even the pages from the diaries are also lost and got mixedup and jumbled. We approached Prof. Jayadhir Tirumala Rao, the then Director of A.P. Government Oriental Manuscripts Library and Research Institute, Hyderabad and explained the importance of the Gurajada papers. Subsequently he took steps to secure the digitized copies of the Gurajada collection of manuscripts from the A.P. State Archives and Research Institute. I am thankful to the Director, A.P. State Archives & Research Institute and Prof. Jayadhir Tirumala Rao for providing the Diaries and other papers of Gurajada in original (digital) form.

I owe my first interest in the diaries of Gurajada to S. Raminaidu of Velugu, Vijayanagaram, who sent me a typed script in 1993. A few years ago Sri Chalasani Prasad of Virasam sent me a suitcase of typed copies of the manuscripts of diaries, letters and notes and also the manuscript of Kondubhattiyam, the incomplete play of Gurajada, and encouraged me to go ahead with publication. The love of my friends has sustained me with encouragement and enthusiasm. My thanks are due to Sri Bapu for the meaningful art piece on Gurajada. I am thankful to my close friend Dr. Kalidasu Purushotham for sharing the responsibility of editing Gurajada's works. My profound thanks are due to Sri M.V. Rayudu garu, Manasu Publications, Bangalore who readily volunteered to bring out the complete works of Gurajada.
