అనే ఆరుద్ర పాటలోని గోదావరై ఘోష ఆ తల్లి తన స్తన్యమిచ్చి పండించే ధాన్యరాసుల ధనాగారమే.
- In the Map South Asia in the Age of Ghazna vids. Cahamanas, Later Chalukyas and Cholas C 9075 - 1200 (Page 32 plate IV -2) Rajahmundry, the present name is identified as 'Rajahmahendri '.
The Map South Asia in the time of Khalgis and Tuglags, C 1290-1390 is showing Rajahmunmdry as Rajamahendri Page 38 and V 2.
In the map South India C, 1390-1485 Rajahmundry is appearing as Rajimahendri (page 38 Plate V- 3 CC)
In the map South India C.1485- 1605. also following the suit stating Rajahmundry as Rajamahendri (Page 40 plate V 4 CC).
In the Map Religious and Culturl sites C. 1200 - 1525, Rajamahendri, in the place of Rajahmandry, is pointed and underlined showing its due importance page -1, plate V-5 (A)
The Map Northern South Asia during the Reign of Akbar 1556-1605 is also bearing the evidence of Rajamahendri (Page 44 plate V I A I CC)
In the Map South Asia during the reigns of Jahangir, Shajahan and Aurangajib 1605-1707 Rajahmundry could be seen as Rajamahendri Page 46 plate VI A-3 (A)

బెంగుళూరు నుండి రాజమండ్రి రైల్వేటికెట్లపై యీనాటికీ హిందీ, కన్నడ భాషలలో 'రాజమహేంద్రి ' అనే ఉంటుంది.
మద్రాసు మ్యూజియంలో ఉన్న క్రీ.శ. 1001 నాటి తామ్రశాసనంలో 'రాజమహేంద్రి ' అని వ్రాయబడింది.
1802 నుండి 1859 వరకు 'రాజమహేంద్రి ' కేంద్రంగా 'రాజమహేంద్రి ' జిల్లా వుండేది.
అనంతరకాలంలో ఆంగ్లభాషా సంపర్కంతో ఉచ్చారణ సౌలభ్యంకోసం రాజమండ్రిగా మారి ఉంటుంది.
