195. ఆరెల మానుకింద బూరెల మాను విరగబడ్డట్టు.

- Asking proofs of professed friendship.
- A friend in need is a friend indeed.
197. ఆర్చేవారే గాని, తీర్చేవారు లేరు.
- There are comforters but no real helpers.
198. ఆలికి అన్నము పెట్టడము వూరికి వుపకారమా.
- Is feeding one’s wife a benefit to the village ?

199. ఆలిని వల్లని వానికి యీలకూరలో వుప్పు చాలదు.
- For the husband who does not love his wife, there is not enough salt in the Ilakura.

- This herb (Salsola Indica) is occasionally used as a vegetable, and is naturally very salt.
- Where there is no love, all are faults.
- If you want a pretence to whip a dog, it is enough to say he ate up the frying pan.
