1809. మేకవన్నె పులి.

A goat-coloured tiger.
A wolf in sheep's clothing.

1810. మేడికాయ పై మిసిమి.

The lustre of a green fig.
It often has worms in it.

outwardly fine, but inwardly bad.

1811. మేత కరణము.

A Karanam to graze.
i.e. up to any amount of bribery and corruption.
(See Nos. 660, 2042.)

1812. మేలు మేలంటే, మెడ విరగపడ్డట్టు.

When they cried “Bravo! Bravo!” he jumped down and broke his neck.
Said of a vain man, who makes a. fool of himself to please others.

1813. మొండికి శిగ్గూ లేదు, మొరడుకు గాలీ లేదు.

A pig-headed fellow [feels] no shame, the trunk of a tree [feels] no wind.

1814. మొండికీ బండకూ నూరేండ్లు ఆయుస్సు.

Pig-headed people live for a hundred years.

1815. మొండికెక్కినదాన్ని మొగుడేమి చేసును, రచ్చకెక్కినదాన్ని రాజేమి చేసును.

What can a husband do to a refractory wife? What can a king do to a woman who enters the hall of audience?
