1570. పోరాని చోట్లకు పోతే, రారాని నిందలు రాక మానవు.

If you go where you ought not, you will not escape scandal.

1571. పోరిన పొరుగూ రాచిన కుండలూ మనవు.

[In] a quarrelsome neighbourhood there is no thriving, pots rubbing together will not last.

1572. పోరు నష్టి, పొత్తు లాభము.

Strife is loss, friendship is gain.

1573. పోలిగాడి చెయ్యి బొక్కలో పడ్డది.

Poligâdu’s hand fell on the hole.
Where the money was kept.
A lucky chance.

1574. పోలీ పోలీ నీ భోగము యెన్నాళ్లే అంటే, మా అత్త మాలవాడ నుంచి వచ్చే వరకూ అన్నట్టు.

One said to a wife “ O Poli, Poli, how long will you enjoy yourself?” “ Till my mother-in-law comes back from the Pariah quarter” she replied.
When the cat’s away the mice play.

1575. పోల్నాటిలో పోకకు పుట్టెడు అమ్మితే, ఆ పోకా దొరకక పొర్లి పొర్లీ యేడ్చినదట.

When a Puțți of grain was sold in Pôlnâdu for an areca nut, she rolled herself on the ground and cried, for she could not even get that.
