1481. పుణ్యము పుట్టెడు, పురుగులు తట్టెడు.
- A bushelful of good works, and a dishful of worms

1482. పుణ్యానికి పుట్టెడిస్తే, పిచ్చకుంచమని పోట్లాడినట్టు.

1483. పుణ్యానికి పెట్టే అమ్మా నీ మొగుడితో సమముగా పెట్టుమన్నట్టు.
- Like a beggar who said “ O charitable lady, give me food like that which you give to your husband.”
- An absurd request.
1484. పుత్రుడనై వేధింతునా, శత్రుడనై వేధింతునా, పేరులేని దయ్యమునై వేధింతునా, పెనిమిటినై వేధింతునా.
- Shall I torment you as a son? shall I torment you as an enemy ? shall I torment you as a nameless devil? or shall I torment you as a husband ?
1485. పునుగు చట్టము పిండినట్టు.
- Like squeezing an empty civet bag.
