1376. పట్టపగలు చుక్కలు పొడిపిస్తాడు.

1377. పట్టినది చింత కొమ్మ గాని ములగ కొమ్మ కాదు.
- What I am clinging to is a Tamarind bough, not a Mulaga.
- The tamarind wood is pliable, but the Malays (Hyperanthera Moringa) is brittle.
- Said by a parasite of his staunch protector.
1378. పడమట కొరడు వేస్తే, పాడుగుంటలన్నీ నిండును.
- If there be a rainbow in the west, all the dry tanks will be filled.
1379. పడిశెము పది రోగాల పెట్టు.
- One cold in the head is as bad as ten diseases.
1380. పడుచుల కాపరం, చితుకుల మంట.
- A house full of young girls, and a fire of little twigs.
- Difficult to manage.
1381. పత్తిగింజలు తింటావా బసవన్నా అంటే ఆహా అన్నాడట, గంత కట్టనా బసవన్నా అంటే వూహూ అన్నాడట.
- When Basavanna was asked if he would eat cotton seed, he said “ Aha”; when Basavanua was asked whether he would have on the pack saddle he said “Uhu.”

- Basavanna is the name of a bull sacred to Siva. Bullocks are often familiarly called by this name. Âhâ is an exclamation signifying consent. Ûhû signifies refusal.
