TELUGU PROVERBS.

1111. తెడ్డు నాకి వుపవాసములు మాన్పినట్టు.

Like licking the ladle when you’re hungry.

1112. తెడ్డు యేది అంటే, కొయ్య యేది అన్నట్టు.

One said “ Where’s the ladle ?” the other said "Where’s the stick ?"

Two lazy fellows.

1113. తెడ్డు వుండగా చెయ్యి కాల్చుకొన్నట్టు.

Burning his hand when he had a ladle.

To stir the rice with.

1114. తెలకుల వాడి ముడ్డికింది రాయివలెనే.

Like the oilmonger’s stone seat.

Of permanent utility.

1115. తెలివి తక్కువ, ఆకలి యెక్కువ.

Little sense, great appetite.

Eating one's senses away.

1116. తెలిశి తెలిశి బొందను పడ్డట్టు.

Although he knew the pit well, he fell into it.

1117. తెలిశే వరకు బ్రహ్మవిద్య, తెలిస్తే కూసువిద్య.

Before you know it, it’s hard; when you know it, it’s easy.
