TELUGU PROVERBS.
1089. తిలాః పాపహరా నిత్యం, తలా పిడికెడు పిడికెడు.
- Sesamum seed always takes away sin, [give them] a handful a head.
- Tila is the Sesamum Indicum.
- A jocose proverb, half Sanscrit, half Telugu.
1090. తీగెకు కాయ బరువా.
- Is the gourd too heavy for the creeper ?
- Applied to having a large family to support.
1091. తీగె పట్టుకొంటే, పొద అంతా కదిలినట్టు.
- When the creeper was pulled the whole bush shook.
- Injury to the head of the house reaches to all the members.
1092. తీట పట్టినవాడు గోకుకొంటాడు.
- The man with itch scratches himself

1093. తుంటిమీద కొట్టితే పండ్లు రాలినవట.
- When the man received a blow on his back, he cried out that he had lost his teeth.

- Applied to inappropriate actions or words.
1094. తుడుం తుడుం అంటే, దురాయి దురాయి అన్నట్టు.
- When the drum sounded “tudum, tudum” a man called out “durayi, durayi.”
- Tudum is the (onomatopoetic) name of a kind of drum (Tom-tom ). Durayi is a form of adjuration in the name of Government.
